Welcome to e-Lamb. e-Lamb is the latest step forward in lamb marketing, utilising modern technology and unique practical experience, combined with committed supply managers. This system offers the advantages of a full auction, whilst retaining the principle of ‘value based marketing’.

Tooraweenah Prime Lamb Marketing Co-Operative Ltd (TPLMC) is developing e-Lamb as a service to its members and customers alike. We believe innovative mediums such as e-Lamb will enhance producer, processor and retailers ability to maintain and enhance, lambs performance in the market place. As producers we are keen to create closer business relations with users of our product. Together we can solve problems. e-Lamb has the potential to bring us together.

Tooraweenah Prime Lamb Marketing Co-Operative Ltd (TPLMC) has been innovators in the lamb industry since 1996. TPLMC is wholly owned and directed by producers, specialising in supply of lamb to meet industry specifications, marketing our product ‘Over the Hook’. Members supplied the Australian lamb industry’s inaugural 12 month contract requiring constant supply throughout. Many other contract variations have been supplied since. We have a 100% delivery record.

e-Lamb is the sole property of, and operated by, Tooraweenah Prime Lamb Marketing Co-Operative Ltd (TPLMC).

e-Lamb listings are supported by TPLMC Quality Assurance Documentation.

Technology allows buyers to view lambs (photo) as well as peruse ‘factual’ data on specific ‘lots’ of lambs.

Loads of lambs are built within similar carcase specifications to suit known industry segments. Over time and with customer feedback this can be fine tuned.

Purchasers have no transport hassles; TPLMC arranges delivery. We specialise in Sunday delivery for Monday kills.

Eating quality is enhanced due to low stress handling of product; lambs remain in the paddock until 1 day prior to kill, lambs only handled once.

Purchasers only pay for product at end of kill chain, based on saleable carcase weight.

Prior to transport appropriate curfew is imposed; thus lambs are presented in a suitable condition for kill.

Skins are treated as a separate product, eliminating the need for buyers to estimate skin values.

Assessing Accuracy. Lambs are assessed by approved TPLMC assessors. Their assessments are estimations only. However they are based on previous experience (300,000 lambs) indicating 95% plus accuracy. From previous experience and statistical data, we can demonstrate that dressing percentages and fat scoring vary between abattoirs. Additionally, variations in pastoral conditions have some affect on kill results. TPLMC has as a policy, a constant review system to analyse live assessment against carcase assessment. This helps identify assessing anomalies both in the paddock and in the abattoirs.

Tooraweenah Prime Lamb Marketing Co-Operative Ltd (TPLMC) hopes you find e-Lamb a very satisfactory way to conduct some of your business. We invite suggestions to improve the service. With your support we envisage e-Lamb listings to increase.
